Terms of service

The deal, written down: how quotes and orders work, who owns what, what we promise about quality, and your rights if something's wrong.

Last updated · 13 June 2026
The short version

Quotes are computed from your actual file and are valid for 30 days. Prices are in AUD and include GST; the minimum order is $27.50.

Your designs stay yours. Uploading gives us a licence to print them for you — nothing more.

Every part is inspected before dispatch. If a part doesn't match what you ordered, we reprint it or refund it — your choice.

Custom parts can't be returned for change of mind — but nothing limits your Australian Consumer Law rights when something is actually wrong.

About these terms

These terms cover orders placed with Assysts Labs (ABN 32 349 037 986), a Sydney-based digital manufacturing business trading as ASSYSTS, through assysts.com. Placing an order means you accept them. They're governed by the laws of New South Wales, and nothing in them excludes, restricts or modifies any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Quotes and orders

Quotes are computed from your file's measured geometry, with the configuration you choose. STL files price instantly; other formats are quoted by a person. A quote stays valid for 30 days; after that, reprice it in the quote tool.

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. The minimum order is $27.50. A tax invoice is provided with every order.

An order exists once payment is received (card) or once your bank payment clears (bank debit). Production starts after that point.

Dispatch targets (for example, 48 hours for standard materials) are targets we plan the queue around, not guarantees — the quote shows the expected date before you pay, and we'll tell you promptly if something slips.

We may decline or refund an order we can't print to standard — for example, geometry our process can't produce reliably — and we'll tell you why.

Your files and intellectual property

You keep all rights in the files you upload. By uploading, you grant us a licence to store, repair (for example, fixing mesh holes), slice and print them solely to quote and fulfil your orders.

You confirm you have the rights to have the design printed, and that the parts aren't unlawful (for example, we don't print firearms or firearm parts).

We never share, sell, publish or reuse your geometry, and we delete your files on request. Details are in the privacy policy.

Quality, tolerances and our reprint promise

Every part is inspected against the order before it ships. We manufacture to the published specifications: ±0.25 mm general tolerance (or ±0.3% over 100 mm), the material and layer height you selected, and the finishing options you chose.

If a part arrives outside those specifications, damaged, or otherwise not matching what you ordered, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll reprint it or refund it — your choice, at our cost, including shipping. Photos usually settle it in one email.

One honest limit: we print the geometry you supply. Whether a design suits its intended job — wall thicknesses, fits, load cases — is your call (our design guides and quote analysis help, and we flag obvious problems before printing). That limit applies to design suitability only; it never applies to our workmanship, materials or process, and it doesn't affect your consumer guarantees.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Our reprint promise above sits alongside these guarantees and doesn't replace them.

Change of mind

Because every part is custom-manufactured to your file, we can't accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind — including ordering the wrong size, material or quantity. Check the quote summary before paying; if you spot a mistake after paying but before production starts, email us immediately and we'll do our best to catch it.

This change-of-mind policy is separate from, and doesn't limit, your Australian Consumer Law rights above.

Shipping and delivery

We ship Australia-wide with tracking, from Sydney. Shipping options and costs are shown before payment.

Delivery estimates from carriers are estimates. If a parcel goes missing or arrives damaged, contact us and we'll sort it with the carrier — you won't be left chasing a courier alone.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery; title passes on payment.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, and apart from your Australian Consumer Law rights, our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to resupplying the parts or refunding the amount paid for them. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Accounts and acceptable use

Keep your account credentials to yourself; you're responsible for orders placed with them.

Don't abuse the quote tool (for example, automated scraping of pricing) or upload malicious files.

We can suspend accounts that breach these terms, with notice and a reason.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the date above changes when we do. The version in force when you place an order is the one that applies to it.
